Cable installation: an overview of European & UK practice

There are marked differences between some European countries philosophies and practices for the application of power cables and UK practice. The author concentrates on low voltage multicore cables and addresses some of these differences from a user´s point of view, highlighting areas to be considered when using cables in the UK which are constructed to other national standards. Installations in hazardous areas have not been considered in this paper
