Abstract
A versatile simulation package (SIMUVEC) has been developed for the analysis of vector-controlled induction motor drives which can be used by experts or researchers to investigate various aspects of the design and performance of these drives. SIMUVEC can be used for the detailed analysis of three types of induction motor drives which incorporate stator-flux-oriented control or/and rotor-flux-oriented control or/and magnetizing-flux-oriented control. The machine can be supplied by impressed voltages or by impressed currents. In SIMUVEC the models of a single-cage induction machine in the stator-flux-, rotor-flux- and magnetizing-flux-oriented reference frames are used to generate the instantaneous stator and rotor currents and speed of the machine under transient conditions, and also other machine quantities (instantaneous values of stator and rotor fluxes etc). SIMUVEC has been used for various drive configurations. The simulation results compare well with practical results
