Abstract
The objective of this paper is to present a broad scope of the current status and the challenges to be faced by Mexico due to the telecommunications industry (TI) deregulation process and internetworking technologies (IWT) penetration after a major economic shock suffered by this country at the end of 1994. This issue created important constraints and a negative impact on the growth rate in these areas during 1995 and in part of 1996, in comparison with trends showed in the 1990-1994 period
