Abstract :
The authors have considered that tunable all-optical pulse compression and stretching could be achieved by using custom Brillouin gain lines, which can find enormous applications including dispersion compensating, the final section of the cascaded Brillouin delay lines, in optical communication systems. The authors reported what they believe the first experimental demonstration of all-optical pulse compression and stretching via doublet Brillouin gain lines in an optical fiber.
