Abstract :
This paper shows how object-oriented software techniques can be used to simplify the design of an automatic test facility (ATF) for testing electric machinery. A prototype system is described which is capable of perfuming a wide variety of tests on small rotating electrical machines in the power range 200 W-3 kW. It is capable of unattended, automatic operation for long periods of time. A printed record of the test results can be produced at the end of a user-configurable test sequence. Collected test data can also be transferred into commercial spreadsheet or database software for later processing
