Abstract
Trade-offs have to be made when repeatable radiated emission measurements are attempted in a non-ideal environment. This situation will normally occur at the diagnostic or pre-compliance testing stage for a manufacturer, or at the goods-in quality assurance inspection for a distributor. A personal computer has been chosen because it is a universally familiar product, rich in potential emission sources and subject to fierce competitive cost-cutting which can compromise its EMC performance
