  • Abstract
    Although many advanced automatic control techniques have arisen for the last couple of decades, the PID controller is still the most commonly used controller in industry; and particularly so in electrical servo drives. The popularity of PID in industry is mainly due to the simple and direct means available for the trial and error approach for designing and tuning the controller, in contrast with the methods needed for designing other type controllers.
