Abstract :
Incident transient wave on apertures of 3-D cavities is expanded as a series of 3-D complex pulsed source beams by using the conjugate gradient method, and the walls of the cavities are extended to the complex walls by the complex extension method (CEM). A series of formulas are deduced. The algorithm is realized on a personal computer and is proved to be efficient. Numerical results for short-pulsed transient scattered fields from typical cavities including a 3-D parabolic reflector antenna, a concave spherical reflector, an open-ended 3-D rectangular cavity, an open-ended circular cylinder cavity, and a tripod reflector are given. This method can also be applied to transient short-pulsed scattered fields from other more complicated cavities.
