Abstract :
A transition joint between oil filled (OF) cables and synthetic cables with a similar design for voltages from 70 to 225 kV is presented in this paper. An original way of fitting both ends together has been developed consisting of: an epoxy resin insulator to separate both types of cables (classic); an OF fitting through the outer metallic housing; jointing by a plug-in connection system; and an outer metallic housing in 3 parts for an easy mounting.
