Premoulded joints for voltages from 72 to 245 kV

This paper outlines a generation of prefabricated EPDM rubber slip-on joints. The fundamental advantages of this technique are complete production and testing in factory and quicker installation at site. The good experience in the MV joint, was the basis for transferring the existing know how to the high voltage range from 72 to 245 kV. In HV designs it is important to calculate the electrical and thermal constraints. The requirements on the materials are more important and also a clear insight in the molding process is necessary
