Abstract :
By using high dielectric constant and nonlinear resistivity stress relief systems, the stress at cable ends can be controlled without using the traditional stress cones. High dielectric constant and nonlinear stress relief systems use material characteristics and not shape, which results in a range of possible constructions that can be interesting when cables are terminated in applications with limited space or when cables vary in size. A big advantage of this technology is that it can be `built-in´ into materials like mastic, rubbers, etc. This means modern installation techniques like cold-shrink and slip-on become possible
