Abstract :
The idea arose to feed the substations in the central parts of Stockholm with 245 kV XLPE cables and to equip the substations with 220/11 kV transformers of the same type i.e. two 11 kV windings and two 11 kV busbars. The author discusses the background to the project, project planning, load flow and short-circuit calculations, transient temperature calculation, cooling, induced voltages in communication cables, safety, and influence of arcs on cable faults
