Abstract
The increasing use of polymeric cables together with a number of user trends has led to different criteria in the selection of accessories for medium voltage cables. In reviewing the above, it becomes clear that medium voltage cables accessories must be designed for simpler and more rapid installation requiring a low level of skill. After reviewing the various user preferences the choice of materials is discussed in detail, followed by a discussion of the development of two methods of terminating cables and a new joint design
