Abstract
Analyzes the cell loss performance of the modulation level controlled radio system applied to ATM networks. This system increases total transmissible capacity by controlling the number of modulation levels, so can effectively absorb traffic fluctuation occurring in ATM networks and reduce cell loss probability. As a result of analysis, it was found that the proposed system can drastically reduce ATM cell loss to about 1/100~1/1000, compared with the conventional virtual path (VP) capacity fixed transmission system
