Abstract :
Accurate modeling of the feed drives´ dynamics is an crucial step in designing a high performance CNC system. This paper presented a comprehensive dynamic model of CNC feed drive system. The friction model was established analyzing the nonlinear characters of machine tool movement. And a trapezoidal velocity control algorithm was presented due to friction dependence of velocity. As verification of the controller, tracking and contouring simulation were implemented
