Abstract
An outline of a new prediction method for aerodynamic noise generation by a wind turbine is presented. The two critical aerodynamic sources have been found to be the trailing edge noise, and the turbulent inflow noise. New models for each of these sources have been developed, based on theoretical and experimental results from aeronautical applications. The initial comparison of predictions using the new model with experimental data on overall levels for the MOD 2 wind turbine gives satisfying agreement. The sensitivity of the predictions to the assumptions of the model have been investigated, and design trends for effects of the principal rotor parameters on noise radiation are given
