Abstract
We present fingerprint smoothing, classification and identification based on the singular points (delta and core points) obtained from the directional histograms of a fingerprint. Fingerprints are classified into two main categories that are called Lasso and Wirbel. The process includes directional image formation, directional image block representation, singular point detection and decision, and fingerprint classification and identification, respectively. By matching decision vectors with minimum error, this algorithm is simple and fast
