Abstract :
A new dual polarization dipole used in base station antenna is introduced. Its impedance is designed to be 50 Ω which is easy to be matched with coaxial line of 50 Ω and make it convenient for the design of beamforming antenna. Also antenna´s structure strength is increased. Moreover, the specially designed cooperate branch on the U shape balun makes the dipole with good isolation and cross polarization level. A four elements array with such dipole antenna is fabricated and the measured results show that the array has very good isolation and cross polarization level, which proves that the dipole is efficient and advantageous.
