Abstract :
The key challenge which faces designers of portable and mobile antennas is to achieve high performance in a compact, lightweight package that is straightforward to deploy, simple to use and easy to transport. This paper describes two novel array technologies which meet these demanding requirements, one for a man-portable application and one for vehicle integration. For each technology, a design description and measured performance parameters are provided, together with an assessment of the benefits of each.
