Future applications for short range vehicle/roadside communications links

The authors begin with a look at the way in which SRC links have developed and reached the market-place, and a representative system is briefly outlined. The authors continue by describing recent developments within PROMETHEUS and in particular within Jaguar´s programme to exploit these links to bring road traffic information to drivers. The last part of the paper looks at the issues which will affect the development of these applications and determine those which will eventually become products
