Abstract
Toporkov et al. (see IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, vol.3, p.2167, 1996) discussed the procedure of calculating the average image intensity by direct averaging the expression for the image intensity from one surface realization. Now this procedure is applied to a simple model of one-dimensional non-Gaussian random surface. It is shown that in this case average image intensity starts depending on the waveheight itself (in the case of a Gaussian surface it depends on the surface slope). The average image intensity predicted by the obtained expression is compared to the results of Monte Carlo simulations.
