Abstract :
For the problem of harmonics in the inverter output of a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) power generation system, the authors discuss some essential methods which use active filters to compensate the harmonic current in the power network. Having analysed the characteristic of the passive and active filters in the form of a voltage source and current source, the authors discuss the construction of the instantaneous harmonic current compensating system. They introduce an experimental direct compensating active filter with voltage source as well as the experimental result
