Abstract :
One of the effects of voltage and current harmonics within the power systems is ageing of the insulation of electrical equipment and components and thus shortening of their useful life. In the rotating machines harmonics cause additional stator and rotor losses and reduce the output torque. In this sense, the purpose of this paper is to determine an electric motor life (together with motor efficiency) according to the temperature increase due to harmonic currents
