Abstract :
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) attract lots of researchers because of its potential wide applications and special challenges. Developing an energyefficient routing protocol has a significant impact on the overall lifetime and stability of the sensor network. In this paper, we propose a multiple-hop energy efficient cluster algorithm, called MHEECA, to obtain an optimal path between cluster head nods and the base station for data transmission. With the help of Energy-Distance and weighted election probabilities of each node, we select the optimal energy-balanced cluster head nod, and all the nodes organize themselves into a cluster. After receiving the information from the member nodes, each cluster head node aggregates the data and transfers it to the base station by adopting multiple-hop communication path based on Dijkstra´s algorithm. Simulation results show MHEECA is more efficient to reduce and balance energy consumption and hence prolong the lifetime of WSN.
