    Summary form only given. The size of the millimeter wave (mmW) market has not yet lived up to predictions. Consequently, companies have been unwilling t o invest the large sums required to solve formidable technical problems. Now, one can see a huge potential for local data and other communications, miniature radars for autos, trains etc., radiometric seekers, and even smart bullets as real possibilities.
