Resource Organization of Subject Information Gateway Based on the Subject Domain Ontology

As a specialized information website, subject information gateway supports browse, search, navigation and other value-added services for specific subject or topic domain. In order to facilitate users, its purpose is to integrate the information resources, tools and services of the specific subject into a whole. Resource organization is an important part that can not be ignored. Being a knowledge organization way, ontology has the function and characters that do not exist in the traditional ways. This article will introduce ontology into the construction of subject information gateway. It argues the feasibility and advantages of ontology being used in the subject information gateway and proposes the way to realize it.
