Abstract
In this paper a minimal structure of a three ports connecting node for renewable electricity generators is proposed and duly analyzed. The proposed converter is derived by using simultaneously the three ports of a basic single switch PWM cell. It is shown that this minimum converter topology can be used as low power two-input one-output dc-dc converter, converting simultaneously the power from two energy sources and delivering the total power to a dc common load. To verify the feasibility of the proposed power conditioner, a 50 W two-input dc-dc converter for two photovoltaic sources are designed, constructed and tested.
