Abstract :
Two types of mushroom-like high impedance surface are studied. Their surface wave and reflection phase are simulated with a time-domain solver. One is in hexagon pattern described in a classic paper, the other in square pattern designed. The simulation results agree very well with measurement data for both structures. It demonstrates that the time-domain solver is an effective and versatile tool for studying such high impedance surfaces.
