Due to the problem of low accuracy of uneven wear model of work roll, the works have been done as follows. Proceeding from distribution features of contact pressure between roll and strip, wear mechanism of roll is studied and work roll uneven wear model based on rolling pressure along roll barrel between roll and strip is proposed. The performance of the uneven wear model is enriched by adding k2 (unevenness coefficient of local wear), k3 (unevenness coefficient of local wear area) and k4 (local protuberance coefficient of `cat ear´ wear). Industrial experiment shows wear prediction accuracy of work roll is higher and could be applied to industrial production.
