  • Abstract
    The authors identify six different physical storage models for object instances under class hierarchies. They examine the properties of the six models from various angles, such as storage overhead, query processing overhead, impact of scheme changes, and consequences of updates. The advantages and disadvantages of each physical storage model are considered
