Abstract :
This paper takes the dichloropropane tank area in a chemical company in service for an example, and adopts the fire simulation software FDS to make numerical simulation for the whole-area pool fire accident in the dichloropropane tank. The variation of flame and the flue gas in the combustion process of pool fire is obtained from the simulation. For the flame, in the early pool fire, the flame is small and pancake-like, and as the reaction progresses, the flame is significantly increasing, the influence sphere is also rapidly increasing, and ultimately with the combustion process into a stable stage, the size and shape of the flame basically remains unchanged and maintains in a relatively steady state. The influence sphere of flue gas is also small in the early pool fire. As the fire progresses, the affected areas increase rapidly, but along with the combustion into the stable stage, the flue gas has been reduced and finally maintains in a relatively stable state.
