Abstract
The series resonant DC/DC power converter is one of the most promising soft switching topologies with the potential to replace PWM converters in medium to high power DC applications. However, the SRC lacks of output voltage regulation at no-load. This paper presents a novel SRC with an added resonant boost stage assuring full control over the output voltage. A performance comparison of the new converter and a conventional half-wave resonant power converter is presented. A computer program allowing the design of the SRC and an above-resonance similarity protection circuit are also presented and discussed
