  • Abstract
    According to the importance position of form in product design, this research proposes a kansei-based method of product design to establish quantitative relationship between customers´ feelings and product form features. Firstly, the form features of product are defined as evaluating attributes. Then through conjoint analysis, the utility value of each attribute can be derived for a given user image. Accordingly, a best combination of form features is obtained. Finally, with the design scheme obtained, design parameters are optimized through computer simulation to check potential defects and improve the model structure. In this paper, mobile phone is used as a case to illustrate the application of this method.
