The use of satellite communication links within networks based upon OSI and ISDN standards

In order to investigate the implications of using SATCOM links in an open systems and integrated services digital network (ISDN) environment a pragmatic test bed approach is being taken by the communications division of the SHAPE Technical Centre (STC). The results of tests performed to date are given and conclusions made that confirm the viability of SATCOM in such an environment
