Abstract :
This paper presents an adaptive current control strategy for automotive HID lamps. The proposed control strategy realizes lamp voltage, current or power control only using current feedback control mode, which simplifies the control system and improves the operation performance. For high ignition success rate, the current response speed of the DC-DC converter after break-over is optimized. In addition, an adaptive current reference generator is designed to fit for different lamps and aging. Experimental results have been carried out to verify all the functions of the proposed control strategy.
