Abstract :
A cost-based/resource allocation model is presented which provides an effective tool for modeling project or job shop scheduling situations which are resource critical. The common denominator of cost is used to acquire and assign resources throughout the duration of the operation. This cost-based allocation model is based on the variable definitions of A.A. Pritsker et al. (1969), as utilized by R.F. Deckro and J.E. Hebert (1989). This model should prove to be valuable in aiding in the conceptualization of resource needs during planning stages in both project and manufacturing settings
