Abstract :
Rainfall structures retrieved from multiple FY-3B MWRI observations, together with those from TMI are used to analyze the temporal and spatial evolution features of typhoon Ma-on´s precipitating clouds in 2011. Four MWRI observations and seven TMI observations with relative complete spiral shapes are selected to make analysis and comparisons. The results show that vertical hydrometeor profile and radial profile of column integrated content for four hydrometers retrieved by MWRI and by TMI are well consistent from not only temporal but spatial evolution. The peak heights of four hydrometeors varied little among these observations. Rain water content and precipitable ice content increased considerably with the increase of precipitation and rain water content made the largest contribution to precipitation. The peak column integrated contents of four hydrometers are located within 0.7 o from the center. Structures of precipitating clouds retrieved by MWRI can be seen reasonable.
