Abstract :
A low profile internal wideband multiple-input-Multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for mobile phone application is presented and discussed in this paper. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of two symmetrical antenna elements fitting in two no-ground regions of 15×25 mm2 on the system ground board. The impedance matching covers two wide operating bands of 824-960 and 1710-2690 MHz for seven bands WWAN/LTE application. A novel U-shaped patch and two small size slots are integrated to reduce the coupling between the MIMO antenna elements. The obtained isolation between the two ports is lower than -10dB in the wide operational bandwidth. Detailed design considerations of the proposed antenna are described, and both experimental and simulation results are presented and discussed.
