Abstract :
The paper describes how complex issues including soft cultural issues, which present significant problems for take-up by industry, can be successfully addressed using a systems engineering approach incorporated into a software tool. The easy to use Quality Quantic computer based tool provides a vehicle for engaging the user community and introducing them to the principles of systems engineering applied to business processes. The exemplar model approach to quality management shows how to get true value addedness from ISO 9000 using a systems engineering approach facilitating the translation of business strategy into appropriate action at an operational level.
