Technology management: the system perspectives for the 1990s

It could be read as meaning (1) management of technology, assuming that an organization to be managed is taken to be an entity of technology, or (2) management based on system thinking of technology, assuming that an organization to be managed is taken to be purposeful systems of technology. It is argued that meaning (2) is more relevant and important than meaning (1). The argument takes as its point of departure the nature of technology management, accounts for the evolution of management concepts, elaborates on the demand of modern technology, and concludes on the system perspectives of technology management for the 1990s
