  • Abstract
We present a new inverter topology used for domestic induction heating purposes. The system is orientated to lower cost platforms, where price must be minimized. With regard to traditional solution for this market, proposed system does not increase cost (only adds two extra relays) and achieves better performance. The proposed system increases life-time of switching relays by ensuring zero-current switching. It also simplifies power control strategy because of full cancelation of intermodulation noise. By eliminating this problem, every inverter is completely independent to each other, and control strategy results quite simple. A full efficiency analysis was performed. Results are quite significant, obtaining a losses reduction ratio close to 30%. The complete operation and analysis, and also the design difficulties are explained in detail.
