Abstract :
The radar range equation for meteorological targets and its features are analyzed, then the mathematical expression for the beamfilling factor is presented, from which the calculation of the maximum radar range is in accord with the actual situation. Finally, taking the rainfall rate as an independent variable, the maximum radar range and the penetration range in the precipitation field for a precipitation measurement radar are given by means of an iteration calculation
