Abstract :
This paper presents the practical aspects of computer aided design of single-sided, three-phase, linear induction actuators used in low speed and standstill industrial applications. By using the maximum value of traction force (or thrust) per power input at standstill as an optimum design criterion, the optimised design formulae are also proposed. Taking these formulae into account, a computer program was developed by the authors. The program is written in the Turbo Pascal programming language and realises the optimised design of this type of linear induction actuator
