Abstract
Handling electric equipment may cause currents in the body and the methods and measures to protect people are accepted worldwide. However, the safety and health when exposed to electromagnetic fields which cause also currents in the body, is controversial. The actual guidelines and standards are using safety factors (SF) to protect people. To cope with controversial problems and stochastic effects such as long term effects and the precautionary principle, we propose the introduction of a health factor (HF)
