Abstract :
The changes of erythrocyte chemo-luminescence intensity induced by H2O2 in mice exposed to the different field intensity of nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) are examined. Using chemo-luminescence induced by H2O2 to investigate the changes of luminescence intensity of the erythrocyte in mice under the EMP radiation. The higher the concentration of H2O2 , the greater the luminescence intensity of erythrocyte in mice (P<0.01), and the concentration of H2O2 is the best at the 4.8 mmol/L. The luminescence intensity of erythrocyte in mice increased as 1.32 times with the normal control at the 0.5 h after 400 kVmiddotm-1 EMP irradiation. With the time after irradiation extending, the luminescence intensity decreased gradually to reach below the control at 12 h and 24 h (P<0.05); the luminescence intensity of 100 kVmiddotm-1 and 200 kVmiddotm-1EMP decreased significantly to be 50% of the control at 6 h and recovered at 12 h, but the luminescence intensity of 200 kVmiddotm-1 EMP increased significantly at 24 h (P<0.01). The luminescence intensity of erythrocyte increased induced by H2O2 after the high field intensity of EMP irradiation, and it decreased after the moderately field intensity irradiation, and it didn´t change almost after the low field EMP irradiation. The relative luminescence intensities changed greatly with the field intensity and the time following the EMP irradiation
