Abstract :
The contributions of integrating manufacturing resource planning (MRP) and just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing into a coherent manufacturing strategy to parallel and implement the rapid development of market and product strategies are discussed with reference to the local industrial environment in Hong Kong and its future development trend. The MRP-JIT integral system is designed in the bottom-up style and requires the support and participation of all levels of staff. The improvements that have been achieved by local manufacturing companies in Hong Kong through the use of this system are described
