Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. The author discusses the developing market for private telecommunications services in Poland and the Soviet Union, with an emphasis on cable television and cellular telephones. Two deals are discussed in particular: (1) the creation and licensing of Poland Cablevision, a Polish joint venture with the exclusive cable television rights to the seven largest cities in Poland; and (2) the creation and licensing of Lenceltel, a Russian joint venture with the rights to provide cellular telephones and video services via microwave to hotels and any other potential customers in Leningrad
