Abstract :
The biodegradability of oil field wastewater was improved by the isolation of high-efficient degradation strains and the development of the bioaugmentation technologies. Seven strains were isolated from waste activated sludge coming from the oil field wastewater treatment plant, 4 strains were screened as the high-efficient degradation strains after the biological degradation experiments. The strains presented high degrading capabilities to COD of the oil field wastewater with a highest removal efficiency of 71.4%. It was observed that the addition of the strains to waste sludge could increase COD removal efficiencies by 20% compared with the control test (excessive sludge without degrading-strains addition), which proved the bacteria had obvious bioaugmentation effect. The growth characteristic showed high-efficient degradation strains could grow well in mesophilic and neutral conditions.
