Abstract :
The importance of power supply equipment in modern telecommunication systems is investigated and the requirements on rectifier units are precised. Principles and characteristics of "Direct off-Line Rectifiers" are explained and a comparison with conventional rectifier units is given. Advantages of this technique are demonstrated by a small 25 W and a big 1.6 kW DOL-rectifier unit. Possibilities in connection with telecommunication systems are discussed and limits of the DOL-technique are treated.
