  • Abstract
In conclusion, we have fabricated a one-dimensional photonic microstructure in an InP-InGaAsP semiconductor waveguide and studied its diffraction behaviour. The relatively large diffraction efficiency obtained using just a monolayer of deeply etched holes validates our theoretical approach and we believe that this alternative perspective provides useful insights into future directions for the field of photonic microstructures
